When we were kids, in the heyday of Evel Knievel, we used to tie the old cardboard gallon milk jugs to our bicycles and ride them off the end of one of the local docks and pretend we were jumping the snake river canyon.
The milk jugs would keep the bikes just afloat enough that we didn't have to dive down to the bottom to retrieve them.
