I don't have a lot of experience on roads, do you think I could Learn to drive car

I am scared
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
1. All modern cars have 'safety cages' that protect you (to a great degree) in the event of a crash.
2. Other drivers are crazy mofo's ! It's them you need to watch out for. Some take the dumbest risks !
3. Everybody gets scared ! And it's right that you should ! It shows you know that you need to be responsible for your actions on the road ! This is a good thing !
4. Driving instructors will try and rip you off for endless lessons before advancing you for a test. Keep a diary of what you've learned from each lesson and tell your folks or another driver you trust. They'll give you an evaluation as to whether you're being ripped-off or not.

@Harrystyles11 I can only speak from experience. I know that European cars have had safety cages since the late 80's i think.
Don't know about other countries.
But if you have a vehicle you can practice in as well as have lessons, awesome !!
Practice will only make you better !

@Picklebobble2 Thanks a lot man :)
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
@Harrystyles11 Good luck with it !
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Yes. You just need to practice.
@Harrystyles11 No - it doesn't - be glad Ur not on a motorbike.
You have a hard metal shell around you with a strengthened cage. Seatbelts and possibly air bags.

You'll be fine!
@Harrystyles11 also - dont ever lose that fear!
People get complacent about driving - they forget the risks - it's tjat fear that'll keep you safe.

@OogieBoogie Hey thanks a lot :)
TexChik · F
Don’t rush , wait until YOU feel ready
TexChik · F
@Harrystyles11 until you are mentally ready you will be afraid. ... I drove at 12 on the farm , but I needed to help daddy . Take your time
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@TexChik but I am 21, when I am I gonna learn if not now, plus I need it to get the girls 🤷‍♂️😂
I like your advice though lol in a perfect world I wouldn't have to learn it, but it's not easy living without it, being dependent on people, paying for ubers and stuff.
TexChik · F
@Harrystyles11 True ! At 21 it’s time
No, stay in your room and play with the Tonka trucks.

Thanks
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@FreeSpirit1 been doing that 😂 its kinda getting old and people make fun of me
@Harrystyles11 Anyone who is scared of driving should not drive. We have enough problems on the roads.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@FreeSpirit1 uhm...

Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M

Luchs · 51-55, M
@Harrystyles11 so why waste any time lacing up your leather personnel carriers to get somewhere? Time to live. Grab the wheel and go, Jack.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@Luchs you re right man
tallpowerhouseblonde · 36-40, F

Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M

tallpowerhouseblonde · 36-40, F
@Harrystyles11 thank you I'm a champion bodybuilder.Very few can get a physique like mine I have the perfect genetics for building a muscular physique.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@tallpowerhouseblonde Wow I am impressed, would it OK if I hit you up sometime.
Ynotisay · M
Of course you could.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@Ynotisay my parents won't let me drive a bike coz the traffic out here is crazy but they lettin me drive a car though.
So you re saying facing the fears is worth the freedom you get after
Ynotisay · M
@Harrystyles11 That's EXACTLY what I'm saying. Fear is something we can all control. And the best way to fight fear is to gain experience and knowledge. Driving a car is fun and it's a powerful feeling. Very soon it just becomes a part of who you are. You got this. I'm sure.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@Ynotisay Thanks mann+!! Very helpful
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Sure! Everyone who drives started from the same point. You'll be fine. :)
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@thepreposterouspanda I mean most people in my country start driving a bike and then they kinda get how gears work and how traffic works, then they start driving a car. I don't drive bike so I am kinda scared
Success · 26-30, F
Driver's ed. Remember the rules of the road.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@Success alrighty then. I hope I don't die 😂
revenant · F
yeahhh and you will be like any starter
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@revenant Yeah I guess.. I am just scared that's all
I had a phobia of driving - now I'm fine.

It's just practice, practice practice... But I'd suggest driving back roads till the controls of the car become automatic to you.

If traffic is hectic - you're going to need all your attention There.
Harrystyles11 · 26-30, M
@OogieBoogie Yeah I guess in the end its just all about the practice, same thing when learning anything but with other things your life is not at risk 😂.
ancientmariner · 61-69, M
My sister wouldn't drive on the freeway till she was around 35, didn't get her license till she was 25. You'll get used to it, she did 👍
