Are you happy where you currently live?

I live in nyc and can't wait to move from here. It's a sh*t hole filled with a**holes. This city was really nice in the 90's and early 00's. However this city has lost what made it unique. Many of nyc natives have moved out to the rising rent, expenses, gentrification and it being too overcrowded. There are new high rises going up everywhere in this city. In a few years this city will be only for the rich. Right now I'm just trying to save enough to move out. This city is honestly over-rated.

I grew up in NYC in the 50s and 60s. The Bronx to be exact. Like all things, change is inevitable, but right now the city is IMO, stagnating unless as you point out, you are well to do. I frequented an Irish bar in Korea town in the 30s in Manhattan. Went there after an absence only to find they were closed. Forced out by those intent on building a hi-rise. Same in the West Village...a lot of vacancies.

@soar2newhighs Very true, many mom and pop stores are going out of business because like you said big corporations are moving in. I live in The Bronx as well. We just lost Barnes and Nobles where I live. Money and Greed is ruining this city.
