OOh I'd hesitate a bit on the assumptions that her job is not important.. it may be to her... ok so she likes giving advice.. in a way you are flattering her, making her feel useful and like she is good at giving advice.. That's not a basis for a relationship.. AND you don't need to keep knocking yourself out thinking of things you can ask her advice on..
My feeling is that you need to try to engage her in more meaningful or different conversations than just asking her for advice.. she's not a counsellor, she's someone you want to date :P
