depends if any value is being added. A retail store could introduce customers to new items they would not otherwise have heard of, or provide a shopping experience that a manufacturer cannot provide, or the convenience of a retail shop having an item immediately available rather than needing to be shipped could be the value. Retail is struggling vs online shopping since many of these advantages are increasingly met through online and direct shopping

@Holdontothefire Do producers care more about easy retail chains which cost more in the end or low prices for costumers which might afford more complex retail chains?

@scooogy they care more about money. From start to finish. I moved from CA to NY and got a job stocking produce. I was stocking veggies grown half a mile from where I grew up in the middle of Summer. The systems they have in place are tools they use to wring profits.
