I think it takes more courage to remain good

@BalmyNites Why is that?

Although if I had to guess, I'd say it's because people are bastard coated bastards with bastard filling.
BalmyNites · F
@Redstar Because it’s easy to take the wrong path, it takes more effort to do what’s right simply because you know it is right
Redstar · 36-40, M
@BalmyNites Ah, fair enough.
I get what you're saying but don't you think that it would take a lot of courage to do the wrong or "wrong" thing, at least sometimes, due to the consequences usually being more serious?
BalmyNites · F
@Redstar No, I think for the main, that people generally don’t consider the consequences
Redstar · 36-40, M
@BalmyNites I don't know about that. I mean, in some cases I'm sure that's true but I think "evil" people usually just don't think they'll get caught. Or if it's a "good" person, they don't have anything to worry about, unless doing the right thing gets them into trouble and they don't care because it was the right thing to do.

@Redstar I’m just speaking from experience, my former line of work

@BalmyNites Oh so you were a counselor or something? People told you about what they did without thinking of the consequences? I don't understand how people could not consider the consequences of their actions. I can see how they might not care or they thought they'd get away with it.. but I don't see how they could just not even think about what might happen at all.

@Redstar No, I was a Police officer & yes, people did talk to me a lot, about lots of issues & the whys & wherefores. I also worked in close relations to other agencies, offering support to many kinds of people, from all walks of life, with many different problems. As I said, often people do things with no regard for the consequences, for many reasons, ie circumstance, illness, etc
Redstar · 36-40, M
@BalmyNites So is it common for people to act without thinking? That's a scary thought.
BalmyNites · F
@Redstar As I said, people do things for all sorts of reasons & often logical thinking does not come into it
Redstar · 36-40, M
@BalmyNites I guess that's what I cannot comprehend.
