Does money really buy happyness?

I don't know if money really buys happyness, but at the moment I have 99 problems and money would solve most if not all of them. When I say money, I don't mean being filthy rich. I mean living life comfortably, to the point that if I want something I can easily buy it. I am a simple guy, I'm not into lavish or luxury things. So when I mean buy anything, I don't mean really expensive stuff.

It takes the sting out of being poor.
Are rich folk happier than poor folk? I guess superficially most are.

@Entwistle There are people living in fine homes in an exclusive area of my city, Mercedes and other expensive vehicles in their driveways, they wear the stylish status symbol clothing & accessories, they hire people to cut their lawns & clean their homes, they also have yard sales selling their worn-out clothing & other items....was told they do that to get money for groceries. Because they come from wealthy families that expect them to keep up their lifestyles & they get up to their eyeballs into debt & have to sell their stuff to buy food at a grocery store. They have no concept of living comfortably....and that must suck.
