What is Wrong with Men?

What is it with men that they seem incapable of answering a straight question? I come across it frequently. It comes in several forms, one being, they say something you find interesting, you ask them a question about it, and it’s like you never asked. They ignore the question, and go on with something else.
Another one: you ask for clarification on something they say to you, and they respond with drivel that has nothing to do with your question.
I wasted the best part of my prime years with a man who played mind games with me. Trying to get answers was like pulling teeth. It was exhausting. Now when a man wants me to jump through hoops to get an answer, he’s out of luck. Been there, done that, no more patience with it.
I’ve met one woman like this, so it’s not just men, but from personal experience, they are the worse.

If they're deflecting like that you've struck a nerve and they don't want to give you an honest answer but they don't want to lie so they're trying to dodge the issue.

@slobound It’s not even that. It’s not even asking a personal question most of the time. It’s general conversation about various topics.
@slobound EXACTLY!!

@slobound That’s the thing, if the question is “what did you think of such and such a place?” It’s just normal conversation. Why make me repeat myself...which I won’t.

Okay that has me questioning the guy’s respect for you because that’s all kinds of rude. @Carissimi

@slobound Yes, it’s about respect. It’s not just one man, it’s a general pattern I encounter in non romantic conversations with men who start conversations with me online or real life. I think it’s a deficiency in many men. They don’t listen.

@Carissimi Not to toot my own horn (ha) but that’s something I learned way early, like walking before you run - listen before you talk. It’s near impossible for so many men to understand that women are people to and want to be heard just like men are.

@slobound Thank you. Yes, we are people too, and just want some respect as intelligent individuals who enjoy a normal and intelligent conversation. I’ll speak for myself, not all women.

@Carissimi Well I am happy to oblige :)
