I hate the phrase, “some type of way”...

It has become a cop-out of the literally thousands of adjectives or adverbs that could be used to describe a person or their feelings.

Buy a thesaurus. Don’t be vague.

Lol but sometimes how you feel is a bit mixed or indescribable. Also, no one cares about speaking properly or “well” when they are having a chill conversation. I get that you’re old, but every generation has their own slang 😂

@MorbidCynic there you go! Mixed and indescribable! Those are two words which give me more info than “some typa way”.

How about “conflicted” or “frustrated”
Why say all that instead of using a phrase that people can relate to? I mean, seriously. It’s not a big deal and does describe your emotions. It’s just like any other figure of speech. So why do you have an issue with this? @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic then define the emotion “some type of way” so that it fits everyone’s use of it.

Because I don’t know what it means. It’s far too vague.
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic and who can’t relate to the word “conflicted”?
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic and for a generation that prides itself on being more intuned to emotions, I see this as a step back
Because it has multiple uses. 🤷‍♀️ It can mean anything depending on context. Like I said, you’re old. So obviously you wouldn’t get it. Gen Z? Because that’s my generation. We are just tide pod eaters. @GardenSage
I mean, doesn’t your generation pride itself on having thick skin? But here you are getting butthurt over a phrase,

@GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic lol... I didn't realize musing on a preference was butthurt.

Another phrase your generation has confounded it's meaning...
Phrases can have different meanings depending on context. That’s the beauty of informal speech. What kind of fool complains about a figure of speech? 😂@GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
I’ve very clearly spelled out why... it’s lazy. It conveys a person who has little grasp on the language they speak. It suggests a shallow intellect.

I find myself avoiding those who can’t articulate or elaborate their thoughts.
They likely have other problems communicating as well.

Use it all you want. To the well-read world, you look dim. @MorbidCynic
It’s casual conversation. 😂 casual conversation don’t normally involve someone using elaborate language. And to the normal, chill people you just look like a stuck up asshole 🤷‍♀️@GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic bottom line...

It’s vague. You fail at conveying information. You fail at communicating.

I’m not attacking your generation. Stop taking it personal.
It is not vague because the saying depends on the context of the conversation. If you’re not stupid, you would be able to grasp the emotion 😂I’m not taking it personal. Stop thinking everyone is offended just because they can express their emotions. @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic it’s vague. It sounds like a confused idiot.
That’s why you need context like in a conversation would give you. @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic “my boyfran be fillin sometypaway so I kickted him to da curb”
It really be like that sometimes @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic define it based on the context
Your boyfriend was a jerk, just like most other men. It be like that. @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic nope you were wrong.
Nah you’re just saying that to try and prove a point . @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic no I’m not. The point was easy to make. I didn’t even try. You got it wrong.
Lol right sure man @GardenSage
GardenSage · 36-40, M
@MorbidCynic sorry. You lose. Learn some words.
You’re the one out of touch lol @GardenSage
