From my understaning, Liberal ideology is based primarily on feelings. When you get into the realm of policy, you can't base policy on feelings, only fact. When they can't argue a point based on fact, they jump to the feelings cards between racism, sexism, homophobe etc. It's a distraction method.

there are crazy people that yell "racist" all the time tough. It's not a general trait of every liberal. That's the part that is in your mind.
I also don't know why people told it to you? But sometimes peopel that use the word "racist" also have a point JT. I don't know if they had a point in this particulair context, but sometimes (depending on the context) the word is merited.
