What's one wrong belief in your country?

@SW-User It's a really vicious and constant humiliation and push towards poverty of those without work. Add to that robodebt for triers in-and-out of work. Nasty stuff.

@Abstraction Yes, totally agree. The robodebt system is particularly insidious. Make me wonder where it will end. I can imagine them wanting to replace the pension next with the cashless debit card system.

@scooogy It's complicated to explain exactly but basically our welfare department runs a program every year that compares the mount of money they have given each unemployed person to with their tax records they get from the tax department. If there's a discrepancy then they send the individual a bill. Seems ok on the surface but the problem with this has been that the program is fully automated and doesn't take into account a lot of variables so it makes many mistakes and demands money from people who haven't done anything wrong.
