Why do I have the worst luck with guys?

Even my own dad shunned me emotionally until we repaired our relationship in my early teens/adulthood. The only gentle and caring men I knew growing up were my grandfathers on each side. Other wise, nothing.

When you’re often over looked, even by members of my own family, naturally you start to feel lonely.

I think that’s where the void comes from but I guess that’s something I’m just gonna have to live with.

Doesn’t sound like luck.

Sounds like your dad was just a bad example of what a healthy man should be.

Maybe you don’t know how to recognize good guys.

@JoeyFoxx my dad is a good man and granted, a good dad...I guess I might have made it sound worse than it was but all I know is that he wasn’t present emotionally when I was younger...I always remember him straight faced and serious and I grew up afraid to approach him with anything. I dont doubt that it plays into my young adulthood.

@Sb356 then maybe you’re just in your head too much.

@Sb356 most of us got tossed around a bit as children.

Best not to blame others. Besides, what’s done is done.

You seem to be self aware which puts you ahead of the game.

Try sorting yourself out instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.
