How can I help someone who is depressed?

Have you ever been into depression and got out of it later? If yes, how?

Are you a related professional? If yes, can you advise me on the question?

@SW-User @Ryanoliver2011 @KidAzazel @Peaceful This can make the person feel better but I guess it would be temporary no? Do you think it will actually cure the condition.??

@zombiex8 when someome is depressed thats the only thing which can cure it.. if they start seeing the positivity then depression goes away for good.
We all get sad and disappointed from time to time nobody is happy fully.

@SW-User Sadly, positive thinking does not work. If so, those who are depressed would simply be able to "snap out of it." It does not work that way. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain. Also, depression isn't sadness that happens from time to time. Depression is a flatness of feeling and a complete lack of interest and motivation in life that interferes with being able to do day to day tasks and which lasts more than 6 months.

@SW-User i never said depression is sadness. Lack of positivity leads to depression.

@SW-User You said: "We all get sad and disappointed from time to time nobody is happy fully."

Again, depression is not due to lack of positivity. It due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. Low levels of serotonin. Have you ever had depression? Not sadness, not feeling low, but real depression? It is an REAL illness, not simply a passing state of mind.
