Rites Of Passage

We walked through the heavy doors,
Our shoes tapping the epoxied floors.
Venturing into the darkened room,
Navigating by tables, through smoky plumes.

And there she was, centre stage
Like a kitten in a cage.
While the dogs in the row internally bayed,
Mesmerised by the carnal displays.

Acrobatics, seduction
Excitement, corruption.
A place to find a vice,
No need to think twice.

Her warm, soft hand gently brushed me,
And with it, took the smallest piece.
Like a sunbeam, sipping the stream,
Imperceptible, a forgotten dream.
