What's your opinion on fur farms?

I never really thought too much about it. My new home is next door to a mink farm. They got hit by an animal liberation extremists group a few weeks ago. They let I think 200-600 mink out of their cages. The majority of them ended up dying. I'll have to learn more before I form any opinions about it.

They've had similar problems with fur-farms in the past, in Britain; where mink released by vandals have survived in the wild and become serious predators on native species not attuned to them.

As far as I know, there are now no fur farms in the UK, but I may be wrong.

Allies to this are the so-called "re-wilding" and similar romantics who think because a country used to have wolves or wild boar until hunted into extinction several centuries ago, these animals need to be re-introduced. They are unable to see that the wildlife has adapted to not having such creatures around.

It may work somewhere, but it's become disastrous elsewhere, such as the Forest of Dean (England) where the introduced wild boar population has become much too big and very destructive - but the moment anyone says they need culling, the "animal rights" brigade scream blue murder against it.
