The story of Adam and Eve is a myth. A rather complicated and elaborate one but a myth nonetheless.The serpent is seem as feminine in times long before the myth came into being by believe long older than Christianity or Judeo beliefs.
The tree of life is taken from the ancient Greeks -who actually had three names for it depending on the writing. I suspect Sycamore is the one most meant to be the one in the myth. Mulberry and fig were the other two.
I suspect it was taken for the Golden Apple Tree of Hera of which the serpent Ladon heralded. The tree is said to have been given here by the Great Goddess Gaia her self-the primeval prophetess at the Shrine of Delphi.
The world is feminine and was created by as such by the Great Goddess or Diving Goddess and Not a God. For a millennia we existed as such. A matriarchy. Life does NOT come form Man! Never did. Men were seen only to fertilize. Are we REALLY to believe women were created form the RIB of a man??? this throwing everything we know of biology? In ancient Green when men and women WERE CREATED they were createrd AT THE SAME TIME. Nor man coming first with her to be subservient to him!
However in the myth the serpent is seen as masculine and as Lucifer. (if one was to believe in all that was Lucifer really throw out of heaven yet by God- before Adam and Eve? SMH!!)
Eating form the Golden Apple Tree was akin to eating of the flesh and fluid of the Goddess.
As to dragons. If one reads the non canonized texts that modern Christianity seem to reject there is talk of creatures something like that. namely the first and second Book of Enoch.

We need to get BACK to that time!
