Rant about random phone calls

Okay, I know this is a first world problem. But you know what? I need to complain. I hate spam calls. I get way more spam calls than I do from people I actually know. And you know what, that's how you can tell it's likely a spam call: Who calls these days? It seems like everyone's more into messaging. Unless it's your grandma or your doctor doesn't have an online portal to make an appointment you probably aren't using your phone as a phone. Or you work at a call center. If you work at a call center please stop calling me. Blah. Rant over.

I ones I really hate are those "market research" companies who claim they're exempt from the TPS. They say they can call whoever they want and if I don't like it, tough! The law needs to be changed and the authorities should come down hard on them.

Lol, the beauty here is that most spam calls are very obvious by the number. I don't answer any number I don't recognise

@SW-User I don't answer either but hearing my ringtone go off constantly for spam calls gets disruptive after a while.

@hopes I block every one I get too. It slows them down a bit.

@SW-User That is dedication. I'm going to start doing that and see if it helps.

@RippinKlouds Here in the UK we have the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Marketing companies are prohibited from calling numbers registered with the TPS. They get around it by claiming to be doing "market research" and argue that they're exempt from the TPS. They're scumbags, the whole lot of them.

Not only grandmas... My dad still calls me too, but other than callcenters he is the only one indeed.

I hate when they spoof local numbers. Swine. But that's what answering machines & voice mail is for.
