Are homeless people in the USA without any chance to do better?

Like, there'd be anything they could do to get out of that situation?

I am sure they could, in the right frame of mind.
Many homeless are mentally ill, or have addictions.
Also, affordable housing is hard to come by in large urban areas.

@scooogy There are, but the sad thing is, many homeless find the streets safer.
Warehousing them is not going work, unless you attack the root causes.
