What are the disadvantages of being open minded?

If it's taken too far, it can lead to being inconsistent, unprincipled, or directionless.

Seriously though, think "insanity" gets percieved as anything outside whatever normal bounds. On the positive end, so to speak, you get people who do great things when they're outside those normal bounds. Einstein is a good example. He sucked at math, but he could literally visualize the universe he was trying to describe. All of his math came from that visualization. And his peers thought he was a raving lunatic until general relativity was proven right (or mostly right).

@Sicarium It's Platos Cave. Anything we don't understand, is labeled as bad or insane.
But not all insane is bad...or wrong. Some are just visions the rest cannot comprehend.
