Do you consider yourself a moral person?

Is it a big deal for you in general?

I think I have a moral standard in regards to how I interact with others. I need a moral standard for my personal conduct (actions that effect me only and no one else).

For example, there’s a big terror attack like christchurch or something. Is it immoral to watch the video from the stream?

@MrMonnyPenny I wouldn't think less of you for watching something like that, but many would. I will say this though, be careful with stuff like that, i don't mean it casually. I have had morbid curiosity in life as well and watched plenty of people die online, and while i think it's important to at least know the difference between a movie and reality, i don't think it's a good thing to watch too much of it.
It's hard to explain, but it does something to you, i don't think think anyone is supposed to see people brutally murdered often, and it can affect you, some more than others of course. A word of warning if you do decide to watch that.

I think it’s about what intentions you have behind watching this stuff. You either watch it to be entertained, as some of the sickos in the comments clearly are. Or you kind of solemnly spectate the tragedy to have a deeper closer empathy to the situation.

However, even if you regularly watch videos with the second intention you can still go a bit too far down the rabbit hole. When you see the dead- especially when mutilated or ripped apart - it makes you question the worth of a human life itself. “This pile of meat is a human?”

I’m leaning more towards avoiding this stuff now.

@MrMonnyPenny I agree and you sound like you've figured out the crux of it yourself :)

And yes that's another danger as well. I think learning about the more horrible things is important, but just being aware of the potential effect is good as well.

I decided the same, and i think that's the right call tbh.
