If he's upset with you for taking a day off to spend time with family, that's ridiculous.

Why? It's your sister. She has (presumably) known you for far longer than he has. Further, your time is yours to command, not his (unless you both explicitly agreed otherwise).

If he knew what you were doing beforehand, you should be fine. He shouldn't need ya to text him all the time.

I make my kids leave their phones in the car or power them down when they come to visit me
Their men may have them at their beacon call when they go anywhere else ,but not at Dads
Family is important too
When my daughter has to keep saying "Hold that thought Daddy" and he knows where she is ,
I wouldn't feel bad at all
If it was an emergency the house phone would ring
