I've been both...

As a child I was spontaneous...everything was felt to the core...

...then I changed... Became logical, reasoning... Rarely hit any emotional extreme... And people were actually drawn to that.

But then, it's like... One day my mind couldn't handle it any more... At 21, in one week...I went crazy...
It was the weirdest thing to experience...I was out of control, I scared myself,,,but i couldn't stop myself...the sheer amount of physical damage I did to myself and things around me was...just ridiculous and incomprehensible to me.
But I couldn't stop it.

Drugs didn't help

But, long story short - I've learnt to Cotrol the direction of my emotions.

And.... I wouldn't want to be calm amd collected for the rest of my life.
Sure, there are Times I wish I could be... But if I. Had to choose?
Heady and emotional wins.

I want to wring every bit of experience out of this life I've been given. 馃挏

@OogieBoogie I think it's important to have tried both, to get a fuller perspective.
That does sound scary, something you can't control, having to discover how to direct it.

Calm and collected has sort of become my outward style but I try to manage both. I feel the best way for me might be to be calm and collected most of the time, and then allowing myself to pursue very deep emotions with some people, going all in rather than hold back.

And I agree with that as well :)

@Axelerator Be careful, when you open your heart fully to someone... It leaves you highly vulnerable!

@OogieBoogie Oh i know, and it's a risk everytime, but i also think it's the only way one can experience the highest emotional highs, coupled with some very low low's of course.
So far it seems to have been worth it, even if it is hard to deal with.

@Axelerator well, seems you got the idea of 'lifes little balance'
...you can either play it safe... And hum along in the middle.
...or, you can risk it...and feel it all, the shit and the glory.

@OogieBoogie :)
i'm definitely more prone to the latter, i figure i'll be a human sponge for it ;)
