Am I a bad person?

Some dude I've never talked to before sends me a message giving hints that he wants to off load whatever is bothering him and I made it clear I'm not interested. The problem is I changed my mind after a few minutes and when I went to tell him this I found that he'd blocked me. The last time someone came to me with their problems and I gave them advice they didn't appreciate it so I told myself I wouldn't entertain anymore random messages from people.

I don’t know what to say. I can see both sides to this. You reacted due to past experiences so you was defending yourself and stopping yourself from being used. You told him straight out what your intentions was and you didn’t lead him on into thinking you would help and be there for him. I can understand why he would be upset as he maybe didn’t have anyone else to talk to and he maybe thought you was the right person to go to and he trusted you with his problems even though he didn’t get chance to talk to you about them.
