Am I a bad person?

Some dude I've never talked to before sends me a message giving hints that he wants to off load whatever is bothering him and I made it clear I'm not interested. The problem is I changed my mind after a few minutes and when I went to tell him this I found that he'd blocked me. The last time someone came to me with their problems and I gave them advice they didn't appreciate it so I told myself I wouldn't entertain anymore random messages from people.

No, this does not make you a bad person. You were honest that you were not interested, sill to be blocked for that. This is not a therapists office, if people want to help others, fine, if not, that is fine too. As you said, when you have done this before the person did not appreciate the advice and you can feel it is pointless.
