Ever Have to Assert Yourself With Those Who Try To Only See You In One Dimension?

For example: The "pretty girl", the "smart guy", the "handsome dude", the "rich boy" and the like. How infuriating when you know yourself to be damn far more than one facet that stands out! What's been your experience?

"The quiet girl" stuck with me for most of my life. It's true that I don't say much, but I'd had to assert myself in moments when people thought that meant they could walk all over me. (well, they can't, and it always seems to surprise them)
Or maybe I was more aggressive than assertive in setting people straight. 馃し
