What’s the point of asking a question, if you don’t want to listen to the answer?

GJOFJ3 · 61-69, M Best Comment
I have often wondered that myself!

This is the exact scenario about this lady. She’s nice, etc, but most of the time, she doesn’t have the listening skills.@GJOFJ3

She even asked me to cook my beef stew recipe(supposed to be spicy) But she told me, how to cook it.. Joke time, it is. 😂@GJOFJ3

@Bittersweet84 takes all kinds I guess

Some people just want empathetic answers.

Others are just too self centered that won't accept anyone else opinions

But being honest, some answers are rude or have nothing to do with the subject or are there just for troll or annoy.

Different situations..

It’s true. But, the thing is, it’s better not to ask a question at all, if you don’t want to know the answer. @SW-User

@Bittersweet84 it's ok to not agree with certain answers. Too.
All in all the one that replies and the one that asks has to understand that.

They don't want feedback they just want agreeable comments

It’s true. But this is about a question regarding my job. When I try to answer the question in a simple and concise manner, this person will just do or say something else, like she’s off her head. 😆😄@SW-User

@Bittersweet84 perhaps she has comprehension problems or is crazy 🤪

She even asked me to cook my beef stew recipe( apparently she loves it) but she told me how to cook it.. Hahaha@SW-User 🤪

They do want to listen, but they want to listen to specific people.

I think this is the best analysis of what’s going on with my neighbor. 😂@SW-User

@Bittersweet84 I've known such people. I run the other way if I see them. 🤣

My friend told me , not to listen to the question, but sometimes, she pokes me, just to get my attention.@SW-User

I think they didn't liked your suggestion and wanted you to come up with something different. Or maybe it was difficult/ not feasible for them to follow.

But some people just like to complain about life, they actually are not trying to find the solution.
Faust76 · 46-50, M
Usually, to seek affirmation to the words we've already decided.

But, I think the answer depends on what answer you had in mind. 😠
Bittersweet84 · 36-40, F
It’s just a plain, concise description about what I do in my job, but she seems to be occupied with something else and ended up into doing something else, instead of listening to the answer. 😂@Faust76

@Bittersweet84 With the real life situation you gave, that could also be small talk. It's that on SW too, but at least people will mostly listen to the answers and comment... but I mean, nobody expects an actual answer to "How are you?" for example. If it's something she NEEDS to hear, I don't know, attention deficit disorder? Some people are just genuinely busy too, but that's situational.
Bittersweet84 · 36-40, F
I think she has attention deficit disorder. It’s not normal that she does that thing all the time. Everytime we have a fellowshipping group she would ask a question multiple times to the group. Same question, each time.@Faust76

I would do that next time.@SW-User
[c=#359E00]that means your answer didn't meet their expectation[/c]
Bittersweet84 · 36-40, F
She was trying to get information about my job. She wants to apply in the same job that I do.😉Buf i guess, her mind is floating in the air.@YukikoAmagi

Some people who get distracted very easily do that.
making some noise, I guess.
