So does that begin as soon as they become a cell? Cancer is made up of cells. Should we not amputate legs because legs are obviously human? I just want to know when it becomes a person. That is what controls my opinion. It is not my right to decide that for someone else without some empirical scientific proof. @GenerationX

I would absolutely protect the unborn child. I just won't protect the unborn cells. I just want empirical proof of when that happens, otherwise I am making the decision for the only person who has their own body in the game. @GenerationX

@rhouse A leg is attached to a person who is capable of making a decision. A person inside their mother has no voice. Read the stories of those who are alive because of failed abortion attempts. If the mother had ended her pregnancy at any point it would have ended their life. Are you alive? Would you be alive if your mother had an early stage abortion? Life is evidenced and proven by life itself. If you stop life you’ve taken a real life.

My mother was advised to have an abortion because of a heart defect. I am extremely glad she didn't However, nobody else in the world (including my father) had any right to tell her what to do. A fetus is also attached to a person who is capable of making a decision. I am not a fan of abortion but I believe that a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body. Don't use the "she made that choice when she decided to have sex" argument. People make choices to smoke but we would never dream of saying that we are better suited to decide whether they have lung surgery. @GenerationX

@rhouse Your arguments are based on people making decisions about their own health. I smoke and cancer is certainly a possible outcome, I don’t get to escape the consequences. If some treatment saves my life that will be great, but I’m not killing another person by receiving treatment.

That is exactly what I am asking for, proof that it is a "person". At what point does that happen. Some people believe conception others believe when it can feel pain, others believe when it is viable, and others believe that it happens when it can breath. I want empirical evidence. Short of that I am making the decision for someone else and I am not willing to do that.@GenerationX

@rhouse The only proof I need is life outside the womb. None of us would be here if at any point our mothers ended their pregnancy. Life doesn’t exist apart from conception. Some people wanted empirical evidence that blacks had souls and weren’t just animals. They were fucking idiots.
