@ChloeYoung Feel free to look through my featured stories, and it will explain what I’m talking about. But yes, me too, as far as finding out “where” I’m supposed to fit in.
@MrsKatherineArch I didn’t know what intersexed was so I looked it up and also watched a YouTube video. I’m glad I did, it’s good to know there are support groups out there because it doesn’t sound as if many doctors are informed. So to the rest of us you are completely normal, just with some extras
@ChloeYoung There is a lot more awareness now than there was when I was diagnosed (over 20 years ago) but there could always be more. Back then, people misunderstood the difference between being Transgender and Intersexed.
@ChloeYoung I am too. Happily, the practice of reassigning infants has stopped for the most part. But the stigma for those of us who actually got to decide for ourselves is similar to what Transgender people experience.
@VeronicaJane Yep, but socially I was male. The hardest adjustment for everyone (including me) was seeing me as a girl. It’s one thing to get a new birth certificate with an X in the Female box, it’s another to actually start thinking of yourself as one.
