Oh, it might be fun if there was a way to switch back and forth 🤗
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
No thank you!@VeronicaJane
@MrsKatherineArch understandable. 🤗
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@VeronicaJane Yes, having been on both sides of that fence, I’m better off on this side.
@MrsKatherineArch yours was a special and difficult position to be in. I am happy it has worked out for you.
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@VeronicaJane I would try switching for a week if I could switch back 😁
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@VeronicaJane It was a hard choice, but I made the right decision. It’s better to be female than stuck in between.
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@ChloeYoung I’ve been both, transitioning is a one way trip. So if you became a boy, you would stay a boy.
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@MrsKatherineArch Thank you, i was just having a joke 🙂
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@MrsKatherineArch I think it’s wonderful that you have found your place
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@ChloeYoung Feel free to look through my featured stories, and it will explain what I’m talking about.
But yes, me too, as far as finding out “where” I’m supposed to fit in.
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@MrsKatherineArch Unfortunately I’m limited who’s profiles and stories I can look at because of my age
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@ChloeYoung Ok, understand completely. I was born intersexed, so I was raised as a boy until I turned 15.
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@MrsKatherineArch I didn’t know what intersexed was so I looked it up and also watched a YouTube video. I’m glad I did, it’s good to know there are support groups out there because it doesn’t sound as if many doctors are informed. So to the rest of us you are completely normal, just with some extras
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@ChloeYoung There is a lot more awareness now than there was when I was diagnosed (over 20 years ago) but there could always be more. Back then, people misunderstood the difference between being Transgender and Intersexed.
ChloeYoung · 22-25, F
@MrsKatherineArch I’m glad I read up on it and yes the two are nothing alike
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@ChloeYoung I am too. Happily, the practice of reassigning infants has stopped for the most part. But the stigma for those of us who actually got to decide for ourselves is similar to what Transgender people experience.
@MrsKatherineArch stigma? But the situation is different...
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@VeronicaJane Absolutely. Regardless of being Intersexed or Transgender, there is a stigma of going through Gender Reassignment.
@MrsKatherineArch but you went from both to one?
MrsKatherineArch · 41-45, F
@VeronicaJane Yep, but socially I was male. The hardest adjustment for everyone (including me) was seeing me as a girl.
It’s one thing to get a new birth certificate with an X in the Female box, it’s another to actually start thinking of yourself as one.
