this is so vague...... there may be things that I do because of societal expectations..but there are loads and loads of things I do for my own reasons.
@TwiddlerofThumbs I wanted to study arts....And sciences...On my own pace...I just couldn't because it's not what boys take in our society and family. I kinda felt pressured to take up what every other boy in my family took
@SanaRP98 Maybe you need to weigh the negatives with the positives of following your passion to determine if the struggle is worth it to you. Will it be beneficial and lead to your goals. Your goals matter, but, so does family and support.
@TwiddlerofThumbs I had no voice left , I convinced myself, let's do this as they say for now,, but what I keep doing is nothing but what they keep on requiring...
@SanaRP98 that does make the choice a lot more difficult. can you do thing thing where you follow through with what is expected of you in order to later do what you love? As in, study and get your degree. work in your field maybe while going to school to do what makes your heart sing. it will take a long time, but most things that we love are worth it.
@TwiddlerofThumbs I've always wrote in my personal notepad about my dreams and passions...Maybe I'll not forget them as days goes by, and still feel the same enthusiasm when I get the chance to live them
@SanaRP98 I do hope that you do. We change so much as we age. Our goals, dreams, the little things we hope for. You goals may grow into something beautiful if given a chance to age. And with all the knowledge you gain, it only adds to your potential and your creativity. You can do amazing things.
