Does the date format MM/DD/YYYY sometimes cause confusion?

Personally I prefer a standard Day/Month/Year format because if its Month/Day/Year then seeing a date like 11/10/2018 would have me thinking:

"Is that 11 October or 10 November?" 馃

I've been back and forth so much that it doesn't confuse me, I can also do 24-hour time

@SW-User The other day I experienced confusion over a date which was discussed in an email where the person made it 11/10/2018 and I needed to search for something on that date...

I could not find anything and there were a few email exchanges (almost an argument). When I eventually called the person he said "I am sure the date is the 10th of November".... 馃檮

I said his email stated 11th of October... he checked and said "Nope I typed 11/10/2018 which is 10th of November" I then laughed and said "well to me that is 11th of November" 馃ぃ.

Yes he is from another country.

@iMystery that's when you have to figure out where they're from lol, at least it wasn't the other way around and it gets missed by a month 馃槄

Whenever I'm writing to someone whose nationality I don't know, I always write it as "11 Nov 2018" so there's no ambiguity.

@SW-User Yeah I usually do that too.
