Does the date format MM/DD/YYYY sometimes cause confusion?

Personally I prefer a standard Day/Month/Year format because if its Month/Day/Year then seeing a date like 11/10/2018 would have me thinking:

"Is that 11 October or 10 November?" 🤔

Month/day/year makes more sense to me. We say October 29th or 2018. So it seems more logical to put it in the order it is normally spoken in. Though admittedly I am bias AF.
