Does the date format MM/DD/YYYY sometimes cause confusion?

Personally I prefer a standard Day/Month/Year format because if its Month/Day/Year then seeing a date like 11/10/2018 would have me thinking:

"Is that 11 October or 10 November?" 🤔

I prefer it go from smallest to biggest, don't know why a month would come before a day

@Jackaloftheazuresand It's because that's how we usually say it.

@MethDozer Why would we say it like then too?

@Jackaloftheazuresand "What is the date?"
"October 29th, 2018. "

@MethDozer Yeah, why? I could just as easily say 29th of October 2018

@MethDozer @Jackaloftheazuresand Where I'm from we say 29 October 2018

@iMystery That's just weird use of the language. Could say 29th OF October but why use extra words?

@MethDozer just could be 10/29/18

@MethDozer What is weird for may not be weird for others 🤷‍♂️
@iMystery 👍

@iMystery 29 October 2018 should not be strange. Adding the 'OF' is extraneous and he's the one accusing you of adding words. Which is not me arguing either should be understood but it's strange to make the argument he is.

@SW-User 😅 I didn't want to waste time pointing that out, but thanks!
