Any other black women hate getting braids because of the pain?

I haven't had my hair braided in years. Got it done today. I forgot how painful it is after it's complete, and how heavy weave can be.

I'm white so I had no idea it was so painful! I heard it was heavy though from a girl who got her's done. You'll have to keep these things in mind so you don't forgot again.

I guess I really just did it because my mother offered to pay for it to be nice. Old habits die hard for her I suppose. And I really did want to see it would look like after all this time. It's actually very pretty, but extremely tight nonetheless.

Yeah, it eventually goes away but it also loosens up on its own so as far as the scalp goes it's easier to handle. The weight can still be a bit much though.
