A Letter To That Person Who Catfished Me

Who you tried to portray yourself as will never be you.

Dear person whose name I still don’t know,

I want to express my hope to you. I hope you realize that who you are trying to portray yourself as will never be you. As much as you want others to believe that the person you are pretending to be is actually you, it’s not. I feel sorry for the person who you are stealing pictures from, as you know that is a crime. How someone could pretend to be someone they are not, I will never understand. I know I was not the first victim, but I was the one who stayed the longest. I have realized how naïve I was, but you helped me realize that I deserve so much better than to be treated the way you treated me.

Sure you were a gentleman at first, but eventually, the nice guy I thought I was talking to turned into someone I refuse to associate myself with. It’s been a month since we last spoke and that last time will always be the last time. I don’t miss our conversations nor will I ever.

I don’t know your real name, I probably will never get the chance, and that is okay. I just hope you understand what you did was wrong and to stop pretending. We aren’t children playing “house” or “school” who are roleplaying as a mom, dad, or even a teacher. Pretending as a child is one thing, but as an adult is another. Grow up and take actions for your mistakes.

Sincerely,

A girl who is tired of your games

Wish I knew who that was, so none of us will associate or get mixed up with character. Glad you had enough sense to recognize who he really was.
