Because I'm feeling pessimistic - the title of your post. Whenever I try to accomplish something important, it never seems to work out. And the more effort I put into planning it and trying to make it work, the more of a colossal failure it seems to be. So I guess it's time to either figure out what I've been doing wrong, or just give up.
