Im curious

How many of you wear the ☺ mask but aren't really all that ☺. Are you really good at it or do people find out how you really feel inside easily? Why do you do it? Is it more beneficial than harmful? What do you think of people who haven't mastered this mechanism yet? Are they missing out or doing something wrong?

Sometimes I wear the :) mask because I just want to be left alone. It’s a lot to tell someone that you’re not feeling good. Especially if you get the kind of advice or encouragement that won’t necessarily help you. I don’t let anyone see my weaknesses or vulnerability. They’re not doing anything wrong, it is just that I choose not to let them in until I’m genuinely happy again.
