What are the layers of hell?

Limbo, lust,gluttony, greed,anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery - according to Dante Alighieri in 'Inferno'. As Dante travels through hell, he is guided by Virgil and they are described, not as layers, but as concentric circles!
