I just experienced racism! XD

Patient refused to speak to me due to the color of my skin. But it was really more their problem than mine, because I was the lead in charge of their care. 45 minutes later I hear, "I don't feel well..."

"Yeah? Tell me about it."

XD

The real kicker, I'm 1/4 the same race as the patient. Oh, but my skin tone!

Double kicker, the administrative supervisor they would speak to (because of his skin), wasn't the same race as the patient at all. XD

What are you in medical field.馃檪

@SW-User Medic, ambulance and ER. Nothing was seriously wrong with them thankfully, but seriously, you'd think if medics are on scene the patient might put racism aside for just a while? XD

@Xuan12 馃槉 You were dealing with a critical case and patient had still time to discriminate? hahaha...馃槄

@SW-User If the case is bad enough, we go ahead and treat anyway, implicit consent. The idea being that a serious enough injury or illness impairs the patient's good judgement, and they would accept care under normal circumstances.

@Xuan12 Correct. 馃憣
