Had I had the slightest idea as a teenager about how much harder it was going to be to make friends as an adult...

...I would have made more of an effort to reach out and befriend people when I was in high school -_-

I can't believe it's this hard for somebody as good-natured as I am to even find someone to go to a damned MOVIE with!

The next big opportunity to make friends is when you have children—you might become friends with the parents of their friends, if you’re lucky!

@Poppies I have reservations about bringing children into a world full of this much cruelty, violence, shallowness and stupidity. I don't think that will ever change.

For that reason, I cannot see myself ever becoming a dad. Ever.

I can respect that viewpoint. I am worried to death about global warming and what is going to happen to my children and their children. Well, obviously everyone dies in the end whether or not the earth is warming, but I’d like to think my descendants have good times to look forward to.

@Poppies The world may have been a more ideal place to raise children 20 and 30 years ago.

It's not like that anymore. That's the way I see it.
