Idk, I tend to think many times conditions are exaggerated and labeled for the sake of treatment and prescribed meds. It ostracizes people and makes them feel abnormal. When in reality, it could just be normal human emotions, hormones, etc...
Science and medicine is a bit fickle as they are always skewing their diagnoses.

@Magenta Totally agree. Big Pharma works with psychiatrists to overperscribe or perscribe medications people don't really need, because it's a huge profit maker. Having to buy a consumable resource for the rest of your life. It's an excellent business model. And Big Pharma is nothing but a business trying to turn a profit, in the end.
And, according to the psychiatric bible, the DSM, 35% of people are "mentally ill", which I think is dangerously close ro calling the norm abnormal.
Most of those issues people face could be solved simply with treating their body and mind right. But that takes effort. It's a lot easier to just take a fukitol pill.

@Tatsumi Indeed. Pharmacists are little more than drug pushers. And Americans are taking more prescription meds than ever before. It's the quick temporary fix. Do people actually pay attention to the side effects? 😯
But many of those pills may be unnecessary and might do more harm than good, according to an issue of Consumer Reports magazine.
No human is an expert on another human no matter how much they have studied. The willingness for so many to automatically believe because they are a "Doctor", astounds me. That Dr. is still a flawed human.
Yes! Exercise being one of the best medicines, it works magic

@Magenta People come to SW touting I am *this* or I am *that*. One must be diagnosed accurately. Numerous maladies could be improved greatly with effort, time, patience, and self-care. Focusing on working. Hobbies that are simple like gardening, walking, volunteering. Helping others less fortunate makes one think less on one's own problems. I know some people do need medications and psychotherapy and individual and/or group support. I feel many people take the easy route: meds or self-labeling. Thanks for speaking up loudly and confidently. I enjoy reading your words always. Have a day like flowers, M. :)

@PoetryNEmotion Mmhm. And I acknowledge there are for sure (some) actual true conditions that need support and nurturing. But we shouldn't be labeling ourselves and others into boxes. We are fluid humans. So magnificent but yes fragile too.
This indeed.
Thank you dahling. May yours shine. 🌞🏵
