Would you rather be: Beautiful but not too smart or Smart but not too beautiful?

The latter.
Beauty fades no matter what,
but intelligence grows with practice.
Beautiful women are hassled far more frequently by creepy men
and have to waste far too much of their time and energy fending them off.
But a bright woman can always attract a bright partner.

@hartfire well if you get hit by a coconut on the head dementia and various other cause might make you loose some of that brightness 😯
@popmol True, accidents can happen to anyone.
But that makes no difference to my preferences on this question.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire no of course not. But as a decently smart person who also loves the same thing as you but has been ugly his entire life and also gets more pains from his head and any thoughts and most things i know i rather be ignoramt and bliss and then i guess die at rhe age of 35 when i would be out of my prime 😂
@popmol
I'm not sure what your idea of ugly is.
But I've known people who were born with major deformities and disabilities who had no trouble in meeting the right person and developing a committed and loving relationship.
A good mind is a major turn on for other good minds.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire then i'm probably a sick mind! I know others who are unlucky yo have birthdefect or accidents to have found their loved ones but not me!
@popmol If you're only 18-21 you are still young - which means time and energy to work on your strategies for increasing your chances of meeting the right person.
I can say that websites like this are not your best chance.
Universities probably would be because that's where most of the bright young singles congregate.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire i know i'm young! I'm to negative and depressed. Ooh no i'm not here for love i'm here for talking! Sadly not in my case at least in my college there are only guys like 20 girls with over 600 guys 😢
@popmol Sounds like you've chosen a subject that leads into a male-dominated profession.

But within the university, there will be student associations for various activities like drama, poetry, music, dance, art and so on - often attracting a majority of females. Pick a subject you genuinely enjoy.

Or out in the wider community, there are evening classes, associations and volunteer organisations - pick the ones that tend to attract far more women than men.

Its a school filled with science involving elctric studies and mechanics i'm going for electromechanic to make robots work automatically in factories.

The school next to us is all psychology ish things and all the girls are there but it like a void is between us.

We do not have such things here. Like those classes.

I'll try finding one that i like like that!
@popmol Sorry about my above response.
I was dropping into advice mode which was silly, since as an intelligent person you are perfectly capable of working those things out.
I get that you're feeling depressed right now; all the thoughts are trending to negative and that makes everything so much harder.
I've been in that space.
It's painful to feel lonely and not be able to find love and companionship when you need it.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire i have an iq above average and good grades but my eq that dictates how i am around people sucks. I don't know when i say too much to little or whatever with my autism!
Well i might be to loving like some people say i'm like a dog. Once i become attached to someone its hard for me to let go but i also do not how ro love how much time to spent with them and how i must be around them. Plus being horrificly looking because people see me as a nightmare makes it hard.
@popmol
If you hang out next door in the psychology common room, working on assignments on your laptop or reading a good book, you'll be bound to meet some of those psyche majors.
Keep it up long enough and friendships will form naturally.
Then one of them might evolve into more.
Depressions do not last forever. There are various ways to overcome them.
People who get depressed are often more intelligent and more realistic about the world.
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire i might try that although its scary!
I mean other people
Aah thats what i meant with the first thing i said ignorance is bliss. Best to be a sheep because then i wouldn't feel like this and if i then also was beautiful then that would be great!
@popmol Being on the autism spectrum is a tough gig.
I don't know enough about it to be able to help on that level,
but the knowledge about it is advancing all the time
and I believe there are specialists who can help.
I'm guessing you may have already met several.

Hmm. I think I get what they mean by "like a dog."
It sounds as though you are very faithful and committed when in love,
and really want to spend a lot or most your time close to that person.
Each person has different needs for the amount of time they spend alone - introverts gain energy from solitude, while extroverts feels drained if alone for too long - and everyone is somewhere along that spectrum.
This makes it very hard to know what's right with each person.
The best thing to do is just ask them to let you know how much time they need doing other things and when - and to be aware that this will often need to be flexible.
That can be hard to adapt to if you feel more comfortable with routine -
but couples can work it out if they develop good open communication.

There's a relationship expert and coach, Mathew Hussey,
who has written a lot of stuff available free online.
He deals with a wide range of circumstances,
and gets right down to the nitty-gritty detail.
I suspect you might find quite a few good tips there.
popmol · 26-30, M
Yes and i connected with none. I can tell them everything but don't trust them. I have certain problems like people with autism but also some added things that make treating me like a normal one harder.

I hope i find that because i switch between introvert and extrovert between i love everything and love hugs and between human contact burns!

I'll look him up! Thanks!
@popmol Yeah, people can be scary, in the sense that if we can't read them well their reactions can seem erratic and unpredictable.
But I reckon it's worth trying the psyche student common room anyway. Among them will be some of the people most likely to understand autism spectrum, and among those will feel comfortable with you.
There used to be a man on EP whose username was Consa. He was an Ivy League economics professor with "Aspergers." He married a woman who was a librarian and grammarian. What an intellectual powerhouse they created! :)
@popmol I need to go now.
It's 12.43am where I live and I need some sleep.
Feel free to chat with me anytime you see me around on SW.
It's been good to meet you. :)
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire thats the thing my autism makes me unable to lie with own feelings and i'm unable to read others.

Yeah maybe they do!
And wow that combined that scary smart!
popmol · 26-30, M
@hartfire have a good night sleep!
