How could I see my dog again?

My parents gave away my dog before almost 11 years.I never forgot about her and I still think of her and cry everyday and I miss her so so much. I would do anything to see her again.I know it may sound a really long time but I still love her and I want to see her and find out if she is okay and If she is alive she must be 12-13 years old now so not THAT MUCH old. The think is I don't know what to do and where to start. I may know the place they gave her away but I don't know exactly where and my parents doesn't know where she is anymore too.But how Iam going to show up there to the family that may have her? I need something good to say and go there. and Of course if she has another family now Of course Iam totally okay with this. So where would you start if you were in my position??Also What would you do like talk to your parents or to someone so you would feel better ? Thank you.
