From the movie Out of Africa:

KARIN: I've got this little thing that I've learned to do lately. When it gets so bad, and I think I can't go on, I try to make it worse. I make myself think about our camp on the river, and Berkeley, and the first time that you took me flying. How good it all was. And when I'm certain that I can't stand it, I go one moment more. And then I know I can bear anything.

@Mamapolo2016 Very nice.

@Mamapolo2016 One of my all-time favorite movies. 🙂
@LyricalOne Yes, me too, but for the last ten times I watched it, I cry at the opening credits because I know what's going to happen.

@Mamapolo2016 I cry just hearing the soundtrack. The scene in the airplane where she reaches back and he takes her hand makes me dissolve into a puddle.
@LyricalOne And when Bror tells her about Denys' death. My God, you are brave.

@Mamapolo2016 😓

I actually visited her homes in Kenya and Denmark. Wonderful experience. Her Kenyan home is in the town of Karen, just outside of Nairobi.
@LyricalOne I'm envious. Betsy Ross's house didn't move me much...except to realize how much littler people were then.

@Mamapolo2016 Oh Lordy that house is tiny, I could barely get my boobs in there.
@LyricalOne Laughing. The Frank Lloyd (why does Lloyd need two L's?) Wright Fallingwater house dimensions aren't dramatically bigger. Humans were shrimpy, fairly recently.

@Mamapolo2016 Now that’s still on my list of places to see. Didn’t think it was that small. Been to his spread in Scottsdale, that was nice.
@LyricalOne the setting is beautiful, worth going just for that...the house growing organically out of the rock. The rooms are small by the standards of today's homes and I don't think a person 5'10" could sleep comfortably in the beds.
