Why do people only care to talk about themselves?

People know themselves better than anyone else....I sometimes find myself relating things someone else is saying to something in my own life. It isn’t necessarily that I don’t care about the other person’s thoughts & feelings, it’s just that my own experiences are what I know best.

@Stark I don’t necessarily find that to be the case....a lot of people like to talk about other people.

@DragonFruit well that’s my current case and it’s 90% of the case for me especially with someone I’m getting to know who would we talk about if we don’t know the same people?

@Stark In a case like that, I try to listen more than talking....but there’s talking about oneself and there’s talking ONLY about oneself (the latter should be more of a red flag).
