Why do people hate eye contact?

It happens with me often that people break it or look another way when I try talking to them.

I don’t like keeping eye contact for too long. It makes me uncomfortable. If I break eye contact, I will still look at them but not directly into their eyes.

@midnightrose yeah thats one great tip. I try looking at their eyebrows or ears but the next min I am back at their eyes
