Do your feelings belong to you online?

So last night I offended a few people when I called someone out for seeking attention. I was told that if I had my own opinion or 'decisions' about it I should post elsewhere because those feeling were theirs and not mine.. but when you publicly post something online (in a discussion forum no less) doesn't that open it up to everyone else's feelings on the topic and their opinions?
Why get offended if someone's opinion doesn't match your own when you publicly put it out there for anyone to chime in on?

Do people not have the right to post as they wish? You also have the option and right to scroll past and not even comment. How do you know that person is seeking attention? What is WRONG withseeking attention? Maybe they get none in their life..they deserve to have some attention.

What was the point of you "calling them out?"

Also..lots of people confuse opinions, facts, and beliefs and simply assholish behavior..

@JaggedLittlePill People can post whatever they want. I thought that was the whole point of this site. Its just ridiculous that on a public forum people say crap like, "ohhhh this is their post, and if you don't feel this kind of way about it then you shouldn't reply."
I chose to reply just like they chose to make the post just like you chose to reply to this even though it seems that you don't agree with me.. and that's completely cool. That's what makes the world go 'round.
There's nothing wrong seeking attention, but just ask for it if that's what you need.. don't disguise it in a post about superficial self harm. That's playing on people's sympathy to get them to kiss your ass. They're holding other people's feelings hostage just to get some kind of pity self worth.
I know I'm an asshole, but at least I dont try to hide it.
