No. Depression is a medical term that lay-people misuse. General folks may feel down, sad, blue etc. but "depression" is a clinical diagnosis.

@Salix75 yes and many people have it. Of course not all though but sometimes it seems like that at least in my friend circle. 🤔

@Aidan I have it - been struggling most of my life. Which is why it irks me when people who don't have it misuse the term depression.

I liken it to diabetes... when someone without diabetes gets a dizzy spell from low blood sugar, they don't say "I feel diabetic"...but people constantly say they feel depressed when they aren't. Just a pet peeve :)
