@SW-User quite possibly did. But it's got me thinking, just because they weren't civilised doesn't mean they didn't feel.
Although I remember reading ages ago that the seven year itch is actually more akin to four years because when we were hunter gatherers 4 years would be the time it would take for you to breed have a child that no longer needed a mans care. I cannot remember it in much depth it was forever ago
