Doesn't really matter what I believe or not. There will be female users using the 'M' as gender identification. And there will be male users using the 'F' as gender identification. Finally there will be the majority use gender identification accordingly to their real gender. Each have their reasons. To me it only matters when talking to someone in private that they identify themselves correctly towards me.
