How does one get to know themselves?

You know yourself better than anyone else ever will. The problem is that, from all sides you have people telling you that what you feel is wrong, what you want isn't good enough for you, or you aren't good enough for it. When we learn to say, Stop, you don't know me! You have no right telling me I'm wrong. You don't live in my head, so back off and stop trying to tell me who I am. . That is when we begin to recognize the person we remember being before others started digging away at our psyche, and trying to convince us that we are whom they imagine us to be, or wish we would be.
